Local photographer, Jon Clifton as released a special edition calendar, featuring 12 beautiful photographs of sunsets taken at local coastal beauty spots. The calendars are A3 in size and spiral bound. They can be ordered from Jon’s website and cost £15 including postage. Jon is donating £1.50 from each calendar to a local charity and you can choose West Norfolk Befriending when ordering. These would make a lovely Christmas present or you could treat yourself. We held our first coffee morning at Orchard Close, Dersingham on Tuesday 7th March. This is the first one for 3 years due to the pandemic. It was a smaller affair to our usual coffee events but a huge success. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces but also some new ones. We had a stalls selling, books, jigsaws, cakes and gifts. The raffle proved to be very popular with a large range of prizes. All the stalls had plenty of interest and the room was full of chatter and laughter. Plenty of coffee and tea was drunk and we had a number of enquiries about our service and volunteering.
We raised over £250 which was a fantastic amount and will help to keep our services on offer to our communities.

Individual dates are boxed with plenty of space to write those all important birthdays and anniversaries. The calendar is spiral wired bound, A3 in size when opened.
Calendars will be signed on the reverse and orders hand packed at his home in Snettisham, West Norfolk.
Jon has committed to donating £1.50 from the sale of each calendar to a number of local charities. West Norfolk Befriending is one of the chosen charities. Today is Just Giving Tuesday. It is a day of global giving, a chance when everyone can do something to support the good causes that mean so much to us all. At West Norfolk Befriending we value all our supporters and volunteers and realise that without them the charity wouldn’t function. However, in order to provide our befriending service to the socially isolated, elderly, local community it is essential that we receive donations. The service itself is free to the client but we rely on grants and donations to offer this service. We are a small team, and your money will directly impact the people we support.
£15 funds one face to face befriending visit
£40 funds a client attending one of our social events
£150 funds birthdahy cards for all our clients each year
£300 funds telephone befriending support for an older person for a year.
There are a number of ways you can donate. We welcome cash or cheque donations sent to our office. Or you can donate online through a number of portals. You can also set up a monthly donation to help us even more.

Alternatively, you can donate your time and become a valued volunteer and enable us to increase the number of isolated people we could help.
Following a public vote in Jan and Feb 2019 we received £2,000 through the Tesco Bags for Life scheme. This money funded a staff post in Downham Market. This funding has now come to an end but helped us to increase our volunteers and the clients we can support in the Downham Market area.
We are very grateful to have received a donation of £700 from the Vancouver Round Table. This donation will allow us to organise a social event for our clients to help ease their isolation and loneliness. These events provide our clients with the opportunity to socialise with their befrienders in a different environment and also meet other clients and volunteers.
Our fantastic supporter Andrew raised over £1050 for West Norfolk Befriending following his half marathon in Cambridge in March. Here he is with his medal after running the race in a brilliant 2 hours, 9 minutes and 46 seconds! His fundraising will allow us to upgrade our computer equipment. Thankyou very much to Andrew and everyone who sponsored him.

We’re delighted to announce that one of our supporters, Andrew, is now training for the Cambridge half marathon and has decided to run for West Norfolk Befriending.
Andrew will be running in memory of his grandmother, Kate. In Andrew’s words, “She lived a long and happy life surrounded by a family who loved her. The work West Norfolk Befriending do means a lot to me, my Nan was extremely lucky to have such a big family. Many aren’t as blessed.”
